Getting rid of your back pain (Low Back)

Nowadays, a common complaint is lower back pain from a sedentary life style (e.g., sitting on a computer for hours, watching T.V. all day, poor posture, lack of exercise, obesity, and heavy lifting with improper technique).

One quick remedy is to do proper stretching exercises, warm-up exercises before and cool-down stretches after  heavy sports activities.

Proper hydration, nutrition and daily exercise are  essential for  prevention of lower back pain.  Avoidance of precipitating factors such as improper lifting technique and poor posture are also advisable.

However, if your  back pain does not improve with conservative measures, then medication and certain medical procedures may be appropriate for treating specific conditions.

If your back pain does not improve with a "do-it-yourself" regimen, please contact me for further evaluation and management.

After back surgery, one sometimes develops unrelenting low back pain resulting in a  "FAILED  BACK" . Post-operative chronic low back pain is a more complex condition and should be discussed further with me at the pain clinic.
